You’re trying to find your voice (no pun intended) trying to gauge the range of your skills, what you do best, and how you fit into the business. I get it. We all started there. You’ll need a solid foundation of acting skills and work habits to carry you into a successful career. And maybe most importantly these days – you’ll need to know how to audition by yourself without much direction. I want to help you get to a point where you can coach and direct yourself, making solid creative choices and giving consistently authentic reads. Once we identify what you need, we’ll use the appropriate scripts and exercises to hone those skills!

Veteran Actors

I think we can all agree the business has changed a lot. If you started back when we all auditioned in person with an actual voice director, (not really that long ago) you may be a bit at sea with the current state of the business: auditioning in your house with just “Anncr 30-50 yrs old” for direction. I can help. Everyone could use a hand (and a fresh, unbiased set of ears), no matter where you are in your VO career. If you aren’t booking like you used to, I can show you strategies for approaching material in fresh ways. If you’re looking for a way to approach a new genre, or just brush up on your skills, I’m here for you. My coaching sessions are collaborative, so we’ll work together to help you continue your successful career.

About Me

After decades of working with actors while casting, producing, writing and directing radio commercials, promos, television, and animation (not to mention my own voice acting career), I am happy to bring that experience to my coaching for voice actors. I’ve cast and directed thousands of spots and tons of content. I understand the voice over business. I get how writers, producers and advertisers think, I get how animators think, and I get how actors think.

In addition to my other work, I am currently voice directing SpongeBob Squarepants and The Patrick Star Show for Nickelodeon.

When I was breaking into voiceover, Andy prepared me for competitive union jobs. He helped me relax my reads to bring out my personality and helped bring out characters I didn’t even know I had! Forever grateful for that.

Donna Rawlins-Feist, Voice Actor

Having been blessed to do over a thousand commercials in my career, you get to know when you’re doing something top shelf. That is always Andy Lerner. His direction always made me better than I probably was. My radio reel of my work with him is as brilliant a body of work as any creative process in my lifetime. If you have a chance to work with him, do it. Listen. Learn. It will be a master class. Guaranteed.

Paul Christie, Actor

I’ve worked on over 100 projects with Andy, and I have witnessed first-hand his ability to help actors get the most out of a script and find ways to get my clients exactly what they need… and sometimes what they didn’t know they needed. Few people have this kind of talent or depth of experience.

Grant Sanders, Advertising Creative Director

So, you have a choice. You can go to someone who will keep your skill level at “I’ll never qualify for SAG-AFTRA health insurance” levels. Or you can go with Andy Lerner, who has a proven record of quality work with names that would make your head spin. You want pro results? Work with pros. Andy is just that guy.

Robbie Rist, Actor

He’s been in the game a long time. If anyone knows anything about what it takes to succeed in voice over, it’s definitely Andy Lerner. Andy’s direction in the booth is always insightful, and his audition direction helps me book.

Dean Cameron, Actor

I’ve learned so much from Andy. He recognized something in me and encouraged me to be myself… teaching me not to worry about what I think I should sound like, but to truly speak from my most authentic place. Andy knows what he wants, while at the same time allowing an actor the freedom to experiment and make the piece their own. PS. Ask him questions… his career advice is always spot on.

Alison Martin, Actor

I cannot thank you enough for your class. I learned so so much. It is one of the most important classes I could have taken at this moment and it is informing so much of my other work. I would love to take it again whenever you offer it. It was an absolute game changer.

Let's Get Started!

Fill out the form and tell me how I can help, and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. Once you decide upon the level of coaching you want — individual sessions, a package of sessions, or a 20-minute audition direction session -- we can get to work! I usually work on Zoom, but can flexible if you feel you might want in-person coaching and we are near one another.

And Then...

I'll get in touch with you to arrange for a free 20 minute “get to know you” meeting to explore how we can work together. This way we’re not wasting time (or your money) to introduce ourselves and get up to speed. Then, when we start your first session, we can get right to work.
